Thus, as soon as Vrinda’s husband dissolved religion, Jalandhar’s boon of immortality also ended. In this way Lord Shiva killed him.

But when Vrinda came to know that he had been cheated, he got angry and cursed Lord Shiva that Tulsi leaves would never be kept in his worship. Thus it is forbidden to keep basil leaves forever in the worship of Shiva. Even if it is kept somewhere, it may have to bear the wrath of Lord Shiva.

Shell: The use of conch shell is important in the worship of God. Almost all the Gods and Goddesses are offered water from the conch shell, but offering water from the conch on the Shiva lingam is considered taboo. After all, why do not offer water to Shiva by a conch shell. A description is found in this regard in the Shiv Purana. One should never worship Lord Shiva with a conch. Lord Shiva is believed to have slaughtered a demon named Shankachakurna and the conch is the symbol of the same asura. Therefore, never worship Lord Shiva with a conch.

  • Turmeric: Turmeric is used when worshiping God, but turmeric should not be used in worshiping Lord Shiva. Actually, turmeric is related to Lord Vishnu and good luck. Therefore it does not ascend to Lord Shiva. If you do this, your moon will start to weaken and your attention will start to wander.
  • Ketki flower: Ketki flower should also not be offered to Lord Shiva. Also, offer whole rice and not broken rice. Broken rice is considered impure, so it should not be offered to them.

It is surprising that for most devotees of Lord Shiva, he is the easiest to please. You just need to have a pure heart, and follow Lord Shiva. As he is known as the innocent one with a pure heart. He accepts your anger, frustration and guilt as long as you genuinely accept it.
