Gayatri Mantra is regarded as to be one of the highest level of mantras in Vedas. The mantra is regarded to be extremely powerful. From the Gayatri Mantra, many Mahan big mantras have been born or created. Therefore, it is one of the biggest mantras in the vedas. That’s why Gayatri Mata is also known as Ved Mata. Because she is the mother of all mantras.

Is it really true that women should not chant the Gayatri Mantra?

Is it so that our Ancient Rishis did not want Women to Chant the Gayatri Mantra?

What as the reason and why did they say that Women should not chant the Gayatri Mantra?

Let’s find out in this article, the reason and the secrets behind the Gayatri Mantra.

THE SECRET OF THE GAYATRI MANTRA

Secrets of the Gayatri Mantra

First and foremost, what is the reason that tells us that the Gayatri Mantra should not be chanted loudly or on loud speaker. Why did the ancient rishis believe in this?.

The secret to this belief is actually nothing mystical but very simple.

The reason is because Goddess Gayatri is the mother of all mantras. Therefore, being a mother, we give our respect to her by not chanting the mantra loudly.

In the same way in real life, during our child hood, if someone asks us about our mother’s name or call’s our mother, we would normally get angry or frustrated. Because don’t want others to call our mother’s name.

Because, if we call, we don’t want others to make fun of our mother. This is the reason why the Gayatri Mantra should not be chanted loudly.

Because if someone asks us, what is your father’s name, we would loudly tell the person, however, we would hesitate to tell our mothers name.

A mother is always there to keep in our hear and we protect her in every ways possible.

This is the reason why our ancient Rishis say that a mother’s name should not be spoken out loudly. Because the Gayatri Mantra is also the mother of all mantras.

We all might have done the Yagno Pavit Sanskar early on in our child hood where a teenage boy follows a strict vedic rituals where he must offer water to the Sun God, pray to the hindu gods regularly and chant the Gayatri mantra regularly. He cannot break his ritual and if he does do, he should start the rituals all the way from the beginning.

Even women can do the Yagno Pavit Sanskar however, it is said that women or girls are not recommended to do the Yagno Pavit Sanskar and here our ancient rishis say that they should also not chant the Gayatri mantra.

It’s not that girls are forbidden from chanting the Gayatri mantra. It is due to the nature and the effect that Gayatri Mantra has on an individual that our ancient sages said that young girls should not chant the mantra.

Now there is a strong reasoning behind why girls and women below the age of 40 should not chant the Gayatri Mantra.

In the Yagno Pavit Sanskar, an individual is given lots of responsibilities in his or her life. Such as offering water to the Sun God that which he or she must do everyday. They must also do specific vedic rituals and also chant the Gayatri Mantra regularly and must not break the streak.

Now, the meaning of chanting mantras is to awaken the soul, body and mind with the power and meaning of the mantra. Any mantra, if you start chanting regularly, it will energise and awaken your soul, body and mind. If you keep chanting the Gayatri Mantra over and over again, you will arrive a point or a state of Siddha. This means that the mantra now will start giving results to you.

The meaning of Gayatri Mantra itself is to take us into the path of Truth. The Truth is “Moksha”, freedom and freedom from the cycle of birth and death.

In the view of our Ancient Rishis, Women are regarded as “Mahan” or the “Great Being”. They considered women to be “Home”. Because if you take a man and place him in a small room, the room will remain a small room.

However, if you take a women and place her in the small room, the room will turn into Home and a family will be born.

Therefore, if a women starts to chant the Gayatri Mantra, she will start going towards the path of truth. The truth is “Moksha” or the freedom from the worldly or materialistic things. If this starts to happen, then our ancient rishis say that the “The Whole World will end”.

Moreover, Women are delicate, soft and the “Gayatri Mantra” can easily provoke the energies into a women’s body, mind and soul.

However, this doesn’t mean that they cannot chant the mantra.

They can only after the age of 40 or 50. Because it is at this age that women have completed their life’s main responsibilities. Those responsibilities are giving birth to a child, taking care of the child and family.

It is also said that if Women start to chant the Gayatri Mantra, they can face problems with child birth and problems in family. It is not that the mantra is causing the bad problems. It is due to the nature of the mantra and it’s meaning which is taking the person to the path of truth that is creating the problem.

This is the main reason why our ancient rishis recommend that women below the age of 40 or 50 should not chant the Gayatri Mantra unless she chooses to take the path of being a nun.

Because Women in this world are the ones who hold the biggest responsibility. And without women, they will be no home, and if there is no home, the world will end.
